The theory of man-made global warming is not supported by science. Warming and cooling cycles have been documented for hundreds of years, and I suspect these cycles have been going on much longer. Had it not been for global warming, we here in Wisconsin would be living under a glacier.
The Medieval Warm Period from about 950 A.D. to 1300 A.D. was a time of prosperity in Europe because crops could be grown so much further north than they had previously been able to be grown. This was followed by the Little Ice Age, which lasted until the early 1800’s. Although not a true ice age, it was a cool period for Europe and North America. Since that time we have again been experiencing a warming period, with some various ups and downs.
Recent news articles about the deletion of data by some climate scientists are very disturbing and bring into question their findings. Reid Bryson, UW-Madison professor emeritus, known as the father of scientific climatology stated, “There is no question the earth has been warming. It is coming out of the ‘Little Ice Age’. However, there is no credible evidence that it is due to mankind and carbon dioxide.”
Wisconsin cannot continue to spend tax dollars and key investment money to fix a problem that man did not create, nor can do anything to change. We cannot force utility companies into arbitrary standards that will only raise utility costs for every family and business.
